Our Beagle story

Fun dog training classes

UK Dog Sport award

Beautiful warm sunny day and we came 3rd in our group.

Beagles can be cheeky

To build his confidence we built a permanent obstacle course in our garden! It includes a ramp, tunnels, ladder bridge and log pile.
He loves it!

Tracking Training

Cold, sunny and wet on this day of training.

Lots of layers needed.

Clever beagle

They are clever and can be a bit mischievous! You need to have time and be consistent with your training. Given time (and all your patience sometimes) they are worth it!

Beagles are trainable!

Naughty or not?

I think the above can really be said for most dogs. However, tell anyone you have a Beagle and I can almost guarantee they'll have their own Beagle tale to tell. We've been told all sorts.

Other Beagle Stories!

Missing for days ~ Never comes when I call ~ Fantastic dogs but I wouldn't have another ~ Just really naughty ~ Stubborn ~ Always hungry ~ Came back 3 days later! ~ Never listened to me but so loving and adorable ~ You'll never be able to let him off a lead!!

Train a fantastic recall, with a whistle!

Group classes

Group classes are a good place to start, if you can. You'll meet new people and their dogs, pick up tips and tricks to help you with your own training techniques.

Each of us and our dogs are unique and there is more than one way to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

Progress

We decided to try out the newest dog activity UK Dog Sport and I am very happy with our progress so far.

Working Trials training gave us a good foundation for the exercises involved to begin with and we are competing.

In May 2024 I took over the running of UK Dog Sport (UKDS) and was able to build a website to encourage more people to try out the sport with their dog.

Be inspired

I have been inspired to learn more through being a member of a local dog training club, meeting fellow dog owner trainers, and from owning two beagle crosses and a beagle.

I have just started Hoopers with Forti and he loves it. It's easy on the dog's joints compared to agility and involves teaching distance control, through a course of hoops, barrels & chutes!

Can we help you on your dog training journey?
